8 million allocated to local schools

22 Government schools are set to pick up welcome funding from the state government in the Port Macquarie Electorate, in total just under 8 million dollars
Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams has welcomed the funding, saying it'll give schools the the freedom to meet the specific needs of students and the local community.
Camden haven High school picking up the most money in our region with almost 1.3 million. Port Macquarie Public School the next most, welcoming 950 thousand.
The funding will go to projects of the schools choosing, for initiatives such as targeted targeted literacy and numeracy support, teacher training and speech pathologists.
