Two men have been arrested following an investigation into stealing from motor vehicles in the Mid North Coast Police District.

On Friday 6 April 2018, police commenced an investigation after a number of cars in the Port Macquarie area were broken into. Investigators were able to source CCTV footage from various locations.

About 3pm on Wednesday, police attended a unit in Ackroyd Street and arrested an 18-year-old man.

He was charged with three counts of larceny and four counts of enter vehicle/boat without consent of owner. He was refused bail and will appear in Port Macquarie Local Court today.

A second 18-year-old man was arrested a short time later in Murray Street.

He was charged with three counts of larceny, four counts of enter vehicle/boat without consent of owner, three counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception and possess prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on 30 May 2018.

Investigations are continuing.
