Three people have now been charged following a serious assault on the state’s Mid North Coast.

About 3pm on Sunday 11 February 2018, a 23-year-old man presented to Kempsey Hospital with serious injuries.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District were notified and attended the hospital.

Police will allege in court that at least three men, one armed with a baseball bat of the type shown in an image released by police, assaulted the 23-year-old man and stole his wallet.

Following inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested at a correctional facility in Goulburn on Tuesday 17 April 2018.

He was taken to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, robbery in company, and cause grievous bodily harm with intent and will appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday 10 May 2018.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Smithtown and taken to Kempsey Police Station on Wednesday 18 April 2018.

He was charged with aggravated robbery with grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, and reckless grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Monday 30 April 2018.

About 12pm on Monday 23 April 2018, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Wauchope Police Station and was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.

He was charged with cause grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery in company, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Tuesday 24 April 2018 where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 5 July 2018.
