Police have charged a man with the theft of several thousand dollars worth of razors, including from Lake Cathie, Lake Innes, Kew and Lighthouse Beach - after a traffic stop in Forster yesterday.

About 12.30pm, officers attached to Penrith Traffic & Highway Patrol were returning to their patrol after attending court.

The officers stopped an unregistered car on the Pacific Highway and spoke to the 26-year-old male driver from Lithuania.

After searching the vehicle the officers located more than 270 packages of razors and blades valued at $10,000.

Police will allege the man stole the razors and blades from supermarkets after visiting the Port Macquarie region, along with other robberies in Jesmond, Mayfield, Warabrook, Fletcher, Beresfield, Thornton, Raymond Terrace, Green Hills, Rutherford, Gloucester and Wingham.

The man was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station where he was charged with having goods suspected of being stolen.

He's been granted strict conditional bail, and had his passport seized, to appear at Forster Local Court on Wednesday February 22nd.
