No rest for Mid North Coast police as another state-wide crackdown on bad driver behaviour has kicked off ahead of ANZAC Day.

Double demerits are in place til midnight Tuesday, as some of us make a long weekend of the public holiday and people travel home from school holiday breaks.

Operation Go Slow comes just four days after Easter’s campaign against speeding, mobile phone use and more.

Police say it’s not without good reason: more than 7,500 people hit with speeding offences over the four day period.

They include an L-plater reportedly clocked travelling 142km/h on the Pacific Highway at Valla Easter Sunday.

A 20-year-old P-plater, allegedly pulled up for doing more than 30km over the speed limit at Nambucca Heads, losing her licence the same day.
