A man has been charged following an alleged assault at at a home on Lambert Street, Wingham yesterday.
Last night a man was with family members, when an argument ensued between a 19-year-old man and a 63-year-old man at the home.
During the argument the 63-year-old man sustained a number of stab wounds to his back, none of which were life-threatening.
The injured man was taken to Manning Base Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.
About 1.10am today police arrested the 19-year old.
He was taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear at Taree Local Court today.
