Hastings Protesters lobby Hartsuyker in Anti-Adani Protest

Mid North Coast protesters joined up with fellow activists outside Luke Hartsuyker's Coffs Harbour Electorate Office this morning amid frustrations over the proposed Adani coal mine.

It's off the back of Stop Adani groups - the Coffs Coast Climate Action Group and Hastings branch of Climate Change Australia - surveying more than 330 people in his Cowper electorate, claiming 94 per cent are opposed to the controversial Queensland project.

They say the same amount do not support the federal government's $900 million loan to the Indian resources giant to construct a rail link to the site.

Performance has featured as part of the rally, as CCAG members say the MP isn't listening to constituents concerns about its potential impacts on the environment and an anticipated 69,000 jobs to be lost due to damage to the Great Barrier Reef.

It follows tensions between CCAG and Mr Hartsuyker in particular, during protests last month.

Demonstrators demanded to meet with him over the Adani project, but they were asked to leave.

The protest continued, resulting in a number of group members being arrested and fined.

The parties have since met but in a statement, the Coffs Coast Climate Action Group said Mr Hartsuyker "regurgitated the parties [sic] position and did nothing to allay our fears about the impacts of the mine".

Mr Hartsuyker's office has been contacted for comment.
