Kempsey Shire Council is currently undertaking essential maintenance on Loftus Bridge, joining Belmore River Left Bank Road to Right Bank Road.

The bridge is currently closed and will remain so until January 25, the project one of a number of infrastructure undertakings ongoing in the Shire.

A 750 metre stretch of new road is connecting South street to Gowings Hill Road, that project to wrap up mid-February.

Road reconstruction has commenced on Sherwood road between Sherwood bridge and Gowings hill road as well, seeing the road being widened, strengthened and resurfaced.

Council appreciates the cooperation and support of local residents while the works are carried out.
