MNC jobless rate drops, but still above state average

New Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show New South Wales has the best job growth of any state, with 51,000 jobs added to its economy since the last election.

In the past 12 months the regional unemployment rate has gone down, from 1.1% to 5.5%.

On the Mid North Coast, we're up a little bit on that figure though at 5.8%, but that number's fallen 2.5% over the period.

The comments come as the Mid North Coast has seen an increase in jobs - about 13,600 created across the area since 2015.
