Employees working on the Oxley Highway to Kundabung section of the Pacific Highway upgrades have unanimously voted to go on strike, in an attempt to secure better pay and working conditions.

CFMEU North Coast Union official Dean Rielly has told the Argus about 50 Telum QLD Labour Hire employees voted for the industrial action at a meeting this morning.

The workers are being contracted by LendLease Engineering.

The exact date of the strike will be decided on Monday, and this will follow an earlier strike by the workers last December, when negotiations with LendLease over a pay rise stalled.

The $820 million Oxley Highway to Kundabung project is expected to be open to traffic later this year.
