Two people have been charged with a string of offences after a Kempsey cabby was allegedly robbed Monday afternoon.
Police say a 31-year-old man and 21-year-old woman demanded cash and the mobile phone of a female taxi driver waiting for their fare in Belgrave Street.
They then reportedly ordered her to drive them to a Leith Street property in the town's west.
Officers arrested them at a unit there yesterday, with a scuffle breaking out.
It’s alleged police were assaulted by the male during the incident.
They both front Port Macquarie Court today, for offences including demand money with menaces, hirer not pay authorised fare.
