A man will face court today charged with drug offences after a warrant was executed at a home in Port Macquarie as part of an ongoing investigation on the Mid North Coast.

In May 2017, Strike Force Wokari was established by officers from Mid North Coast to investigate the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs in the Port Macquarie area.

Acting on information, police stopped a vehicle on Bellevue Drive, Port Macquarie, to speak with the driver.

During a search, police seized a mobile phone and cash.

Subsequently, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Bowden Road, Port Macquarie, where they allegedly located $85,000 in cash, cannabis, methamphetamine, a baton and clip sealed bags.

A 60-year-old man was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug (x3), possess prohibited drug (x3), cultivate prohibited drug, deal with proceeds of crime and possession of prohibited article.

The man was refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court today (Friday 23 February 2018).

Strike Force Wokari investigations have taken more than 1.9kg of methamphetamine off the streets with an estimated street value of $1.9 million.

Investigations continue.
