Crew from a flight in the United States have stopped a passenger from taking an “emotional support” peacock named Dexter on board.

Some flights in the US allow Emotional Support Animals (ESA) to travel with passengers, however one particular United Airlines flight was not having a feather of it, the Live and Let Fly blog reports.

The woman in question reportedly brought her extravagant bird to the Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, where it was filmed by confused (or perhaps delighted) fellow commuters.

According to the BBC, a six-hour wait in the airport eventually saw Dexter and its owner change plans, opting to instead travel across the US on a massive road trip.

You can watch a video below of the peacock arriving to Newark Airport before it was denied access to the flight.
