All flights to and from Bali have been cancelled and Indonesia's main airport closed due to the volcanic ash cloud from Mount Agung.

Jetstar, Air Asia, Qantas and Virgin have suspended travel at the Denpasar Airport due to a second eruption yesterday which sent plumes of ash and steam kilometres into the air.

"While these disruptions are frustrating, we will always put safety before schedule," says Jetstar on a statement on their website.

Every airline has a flight status page which customers can use to check the status of their booking.

"Our senior pilots will make an assessment with the latest information and forecasts from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre and we will provide another update by 7pm today," Jetstar says.

Airlines should contact affected customers as soon as possible, with updates also available on their websites or apps.
