With the same-sex marriage postal plebiscite to be held later this year, there has been a lot of discussion about the eligibility of voters.
Earlier today, it was clarified that despite registering with the Australian Electoral Commission, people under the age of 18 are not eligible to vote as they are not formally on the electoral roll.
One other significant issue that has arisen is the manner in which overseas and silent voters are able to participate.
Australian actress Ruby Rose has tweeted comedian Magda Szubanski regarding the matter, recounting her issues in trying to register as an overseas voter.
Szubanski said that she would enquire with her contacts at Marriage Equality to clarify the process.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, who are conducting the vote, arrangements are yet to be made for citizens based overseas.
Enrolment for the postal vote closes on 24 August.
