Terrorist looked Candice Hedge in the eye before slitting her throat

An Aussie woman has given chilling details about the moment her throat was cut by a terrorist on the night of the London attack.

34-year-old Brisbane woman Candice Hedge is lucky to be alive, after her throat was cut, narrowly missing her main arteries and windpipe.

With a bandaged neck and nasogastric tube, Candice tells Channel 7's Sunday Night she looked into the eyes of the man who tried to kill her.

"He looked at me and I looked at him," she recalls.

“It really happened so quickly.”

Candice was enjoying a dinner with her boyfriend before the deadly attack, which saw terrorists drive a van through a crowd of pedestrians before getting out of the vehicle and stabbing people.

Two other Australian women, Sara Zelenak and Kirsty Boden, are among the eight victims of the atrocity.

She was having dinner with her boyfriend when the terrorists struck.

The show will air on Sunday at 7.30pm.
