Research from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has shown a huge increase in expenditure on take-away foods, with a 37 per cent increase in the last six years.

On average, an Australian spends $80 per week on dining out, while millennial (adults under 34) spend $100 per week eating at restaurants or ordering deliveries.

This has risen from $73 and $63 respectively in the 2009-10 financial year.

Largely, this seems to tie in with the growth of food delivery services such as UberEats and Deliveroo.
