Aussies Need To Earn $158,518 A Year To Be Happy, According To Survey

They say money can’t buy happiness. However, if reports are to be believed, this may not be entirely true. A recent study claims that earning a certain amount of money could be the key to greater fulfilment and satisfaction in life.

A team from the Purdue University in Indiana carried out research from more than 1.7m people from 164 countries worldwide.

The study found that Australian people needed to earn ,annually, $158,518 before reaching a greater level of happiness.

That amount is the highest in the world. In comparison, the region that required the least income for happiness was Latin America and the Caribbean, with a figure of $44,385AUD.

The number is concerning considering that the average Australian income sits at $60,892, according to the ABS.
