Aussie airports are apparently the bee’s knees, with a new survey from Skytrax naming all Australian capital cities in its 2018 World’s Top 100 Airports list.

With votes tallied from millions of international travellers, Sydney was the most popular of the Aussies in the mix, bumping up three spots to take the 20th place, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Brisbane came in at number 22 (dropping down from 16 in 2017), while Melbourne climbed three spots to number 27, no doubt thanks to its shiny new Terminal 4.

“We congratulate Sydney Airport for their success in winning this important customer satisfaction award for 2018, amidst some serious competition particularly from airports in Australia,” Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said.

“It demonstrates how much Sydney Airport continues to improve standards of customer service to be recognised as the Best Airport in the Australia/Pacific region.”

For the sixth year running, Singapore’s Changi Airport claimed the number one spot on the list, followed by Incheon in the second slot and Tokyo Haneda coming in at third.

The World’s Top 100 Airports list was compiled using 13.73 million questionnaires from more than 550 international airports.

The 39 criteria posed to travellers covered the experience of checking-in, moving through immigration, arrivals and transfers, plus shopping and security.
