Australia's really lagging behind when it comes to internet speeds.

The latest Akamai 'State of the Internet' report has revealed we're sitting at 50th in the global rankings of average connection speeds, down from 48 in 2015. That's despite the NBN broadband rollout.

That's behind the likes of New Zealand (48), Thailand (36), Kenya (43) and Latvia (10).

South Korea came out on top with and average of 26.3 Megabits per second, Hong Kong weren't far behind with 20.1, followed by Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.

On the other end of the scale, India's not doing great sitting at 105 and The Philippines at 103.
