A woman and her son spent ten days lost in bushland - and managed to survive thanks to tips from survival expert Bear Grylls.

According to Nine News, Michelle Pittman, 40, and her nine-year-old son Dylan were found along Mount Royal Road in the NSW Mount Royal National Park after being missing since October 2.

The two were remarkably uninjured after ten days wandering through the bushland, and sustained only dehydration and some insect bites.

It is understood that they did not eat anything for the entire time they were lost and managed to collect water by licking it from plants and digging water from holes - Bear Grylls style.
