In breaking news, former journalist Ben McCormack has been spared jail for child exploitation material related offences.

Sentencing in Sydney District Court took place this morning, with McCormack convicted of each offence.

He has been released on a three-year $1000 good behaviour bond.

The former A Current Affair reporter was suspended from his role in April following raids at his home and the network's offices. He later resigned to the network.

He was charged with two counts of using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child pornography.
