Bob Katter Calls For Action After A Crocodile Was Spotted On North Queensland Beach

Federal MP Bob Katter has called for action after a crocodile was spotted on a far north Queensland beach on Friday.
The crocodile walked out of the water at Kewarra Beach at about 6pm on Friday night and set metres away from around 100 people.
Locals filmed the croc as it sat on the beach with its mouth open.
Katter called on the state Queensland government to take action, saying that a failure to do so represents an "obvious breach of duty of care".
“In the last 10-12 days we’ve have had a croc in the swimming enclosure at Machans Beach, in the swimming enclosure at Palm Cove, a sighting at the beach at Port Douglas, an attack upon a tourist in the Daintree and now a sighting at Kewarra,” he said.
“The fact is that the croc numbers have exploded over the last 10 years … and the crocs need to be removed."
Katter's comments come a few weeks after a rant about same sex marriage and crocs went viral.
Stats from the Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage Protection show that there has been one fatal croc attack every three years from 1985 until now.
