Horrible new details are emerging as police continue to question a man and a woman over the death of a two year old girl from Northgate overnight.
"We have been told that she had horrific burns to the lower half of her body, and that they could be a week old. So the Child Protection Unit is now also involved." Nine reporter Jess Millward tells us.
Paramedics were called to the unit in Ridge Street around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, where the girl was in cardiac arrest. They worked for about 30 minutes and managed to revive her, rushing her to Lady Cilento Childrens' Hospital in a critical condition, but she died overnight. It was paramedics who called police, after seeing her injuries.
