Accused Australian drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury has reportedly reached a deal with Colombian authorities.

The 22 year-old, has reached a 'pre-agreement' with the Colombian Fiscalia, or attorney-general for a reduced sentence, according to News Corp.

The South Australian was arrested at Bogota International Airport on April 11, accused of having 5.8 kilograms of cocaine in her luggage.

Sainsbury is facing up to 20 years in jail accused of having the cocaine stashed in 18 packets of headphones.

News Corp reports the deal will be made public on Wednesday, Colombian time.
