Mexican authorities say at least 42 people have died in the central Mexican state of Morelos, after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake.
At least two of those people died when a school collapsed.
At least 20 buildings are damaged.
Earthquakes of magnitude 7 or above are regarded as major and are capable of causing widespread heavy damage.
In a bizarre coincidence, the quake has hit on the anniversary of a 1985 quake that inflicted major damage to the same area, and killed thousands.
