There are concerns that the current Telstra outage may affect emergency services, with people potentially unable to reach Triple Zero.

This is the second large outage for Telstra services this month, with Triple Zero calls unable to connect on May 4.

NSW Police have released the following statement.

Outages across the Telstra 3G and 4G network could be impacting people trying to call Triple Zero (000) or the Police Assistance Line (131 444). Until the issue is resolved, those affected should use a phone with another carrier or a landline if needing to call these numbers. Please remember to only call Triple Zero (000) if you have an emergency.
