The AFP is seeking information on the location of a 56-year-old Slovenian national, who is believed to be in Australia.

An extradition arrest warrant was issued for Joze Smit (also known as Joza Smit and Joseph Smit) in July, he is wanted in Slovenia to face child sex charges.

Smit was last seen in Melbourne in 2014, but authorities believe he intended to work in the mines, so may be residing in Western Australia, western Queensland or New South Wales.

An age progression artist's impression image of the 56-year-old has been released (below). Police who may be friends or relatives of Smit, or any members of the public who have information on his whereabouts are urged to come forward.

The public is advised not to approach Smit if they locate him, but immediately call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
