Attorney General George Brandis didn’t ignore Pauline Hanson’s burqa stunt today in the Senate.

Today, the One Nation leader entered question time wearing a burqa, later removing the religious garment soon after she sat down.

"If a person who wears a balaclava or a helmet into a bank or any other buildings, they must be removed. Why is it not the same case for someone who is covering up their face and cannot be identified? Will the government make changes to these laws?" she asked.

Brandis, however, was not happy with Hanson’s stunt and delivered this speech which left him on the verge of tears and led to a standing ovation from the ALP and Greens.

Senator Penny Wong agreed, slamming Hanson's stunt: "It is one thing to wear religious dress, it is another to wear it as a stunt"
