The community has started rallying around a little boy left behind after a family tragedy in the upmarket Brisbane suburb of Chapel Hill.

36 year old mother Katie Corben has been charged with murder over the death of her husband, 35 year old Jarred Castel, at their home on Fig Tree Pocket Road on Wednesday night.

Police say the pair were arguing moments before Castel died from a wound to his chest. He was rushed to the RBH, but doctors were not able to save him.

The couples' 4 year old son was at home at the time, but police say he didn't witness the incident.

With the boy taken into the care of relatives, the community has now launched a Go Fund Me page to raise money to support him.

"Jarred's son's future is very uncertain. He is just 4 years old and his father has been tragically killed", it says.

"Your kindness and generosity will directly support his future. The funds will be used to support his care, education and anything else required because of the devastating circumstances surrounding his father's death."

"With a little help right now we can provide this little guy a brighter future. He will be forever grateful for your kind donation."

In less than 24 hours, more than $3,500 had been raised.
