There are reports that the NSW Government is discussing the possibility of a partnership with Uber to help fix up gaps in public transport.

According to a report by Nine News, the deal would see Uber trips to and from train stations subsidised by the government.

This is seen to be a more viable and cost-effective means of managing the car congestion at train stations, with car parks and infrastructure seemingly failing to keep up with commuters.

If a deal is struck with the ride sharing service and the government, there is also talk that the Opal system could be integrated to the process.

Last week, an on-demand bus system was introduced for a trial in throughout Sydney.
