Help is on the way for thousands of students left in the lurch by Sage Institute, after it's doors were locked around the country yesterday.

The college, with roughly 1600 students and 200 staff went to administration last month after running out of cash. That's being blamed on it's Federal funding coming to an end.

On Wednesday, campuses of the Sage Institutes of Fitness, Aged Care, Massage, Education and Child Care were shut down in New South Wales and Queensland, and staff were told they were redundant.

It's a little less dire in Victoria, where the campus has suspended classes for at least the next week, while administrators talk with another party interested in taking on the business.

Now here's the positive news - all students have been told they will be given help to be placed at other training providers to complete their course or given credits or refunds. Students have been advised to contact the Australian Council of Private Education and Training’s activations team on 1800 875 474.
