Bidders are fighting for the chance to party with Julie Bishop in Hollywood in the Press Gallery’s Mid-Winter Ball charity auction.

The top bid for an “unforgettable night” with the Foreign Minister prize is $26,100 on eBay.

The package includes two Qantas business class seats to Los Angeles, two nights at the ritzy Intercontinental Hotel Downtown, two tickets to the G'Day USA Gala Ball and a Warner Bros Studio tour with access to the set of whatever film or TV show is being shot at the time.

Afternoon tea with Malcolm Turnbull and a tour of the prime minister's official residence, The Lodge in Canberra, is coming in a distant second, fetching a current bid of $9,200.

There’s currently no takers for a quiet bottle of wine and chat at Parliament House with Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and his deputy Tanya Plibersek.

Meanwhile, an AFL grand final package has attracted a bid of $3,600 and Qantas business class seats to LA or London has a pledge of $11,300.38.

Bidding closes on Wednesday at 5pm, just before the evening's black tie festivities begin at Parliament's Great Hall, an event that's billed as the premier social event on the national political calendar.

Proceeds raised from the ball and eBay auction will support six charities including Lifeline, Stroke Foundation and Alannah and Madeline Foundation.

The annual ball has raised almost $3.5 million for charity to date.
