Kevin Rudd's prowess at the important schoolyard past time of handball has been gloriously documented in a new video to emerge online.

The ex Prime Minister decided to stop by Brisbane's Kelvin Grove High School on Monday where he challenged some Year 12 students to a couple of rounds.

Shared to the Handball Memes Facebook page, the video shows KRudd has not lost any of his edge, with scores of comments showing his "much anticipated return" went down a treat.

"I love everything about this. This man was twice, our fearless leader, and he continues to do great work in our school (handball courts)," wrote one.

Another said: "Good to see that life away from politics has let Kevin develop his handball game. Priorities straight."

A third added: "Rudd came of age in the early 70's. 70's handball in Nambour was about as tough as it gets; it's basically a different sport compared to the namby-pamby, play-it-safe, not-too-rough-lads style of play that's common today."
