A man's been charged over the death of another man on a Southeast Queensland work site.

Back in April of this year, emergency crews were called to a work site at Springfield Lakes, where they found a man unconscious and suffering from a severe hit to the head.

The man, who's believed to have been in his 30s, was air lifted to the PA hospital in Brisbane, but died a day later.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland launched an investigation straight away. At the time, a spokesman was quoted saying the victim had been doing maintenance work on a wood chipper at the time of the accident.

Queensland Police have charged a 24 year old Yarrabilba man with manslaughter. He's due in court at Ipswich.
