Asylum seekers and refugees at Australia's Manus Island Detention Centre have been told they have two weeks to get out, before they start demolition on May 28.

There's about 800 people still living there and they've been given a few options to choose from.

Around 700 people have been declared as refugees and will be allowed to stay in Papua New Guinea or wait for a chance to be relocated to the United States.

The remaining people are being offered the chance to move to a different detention centre or accept a $20,000 payment from the Australian Government to go back to their country of origin.

Demolition starts at the end of May and the entire place will be gone by June 3
