They were protesting the treatment of the 600 men who currently remain on Manus Island, and are calling for the Australian Government to take action and evacuate the men.

Currently, they are without food, water, electricity or sanitation after Australia removed its staff from Manus Island.

Two banners were been unfurled: "SOS Manus" and "Love Makes A Way for asylum seekers".

Pastor Jarrod McKenna, from Cornerstone Church, and mental health practicioner Delroy Bergsma stressed the urgency of the situation on Manus Island.

"We see you, we hear your cries and we are doing everything we can to make sure we can respond to you," Pastor McKenna said.

"I'm much more comfortable with my feet firmly planted on the ground, but we are prepared to do this to make sure no one dies on Manus."
