The Olympic Shooter wins his appeal

Olympic Shooter Michael Diamond is aiming for the next Olympics, after having three firearms convictions thrown out of court.

The two-time Olympic champion lost his gun license for 10 years, after being found guilty of high-range drink-driving and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol in Shoal Bay last year, ending any chance of him competing at the Rio Games.

But a judge has ruled the case against him wasn't proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Diamond now wants his licence back ASAP so he can hit the range and prepare for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

"I'll rebuild my image again as the person that I really am, rather than the person the media portrayed me to be," he said.

And on his current shooting form, Diamond says it's like riding a bike - you don't forget how to do it.
