A mother of five's had emergency surgery on the most aggressive form of brain cancer there is, after finding out she had the life threatening condition in her third trimester of pregnancy.

32-year-old Felicity Plew from the Northern Territory went under the knife just two weeks after giving birth to a baby boy. But surgeons only managed to remove 80 per-cent of the 5.5cm growth.

Apparently cutting away any more would have affected Felicity's quality of life too much.

Her husband and kids are camping in caravan park near the hospital, hoping for some good news.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up for Felicity to raise cash to hopefully save her life.

By Friday afternoon $6125 had been raised, that figure's now passed the $45,000 mark with the target raised from $30,000 to $100,000.
