Choosing a reliable internet provider is really important these days to accommodate our busy lifestyles.

A survey has found 62 per cent of Australians faced issues with their internet in the past six months, with disconnections and drop-outs, connection issues and slow speeds the top complaints.

Consumer group CHOICE asked ADSL, Cable and NBN customers to rate how satisfied they were with their retailer on connection speeds, reliability, value for money, bill clarity, ease of set-up, customer support and technical support.

Internode and iiNet customers were the happiest, with overall satisfaction higher than 75 per cent while Telstra and Dodo customers were the unhappiest.

"Although internet service providers such as Dodo might spruik 'super fast broadband', in reality most Aussies who reported and issue with the NBN complained about slow speeds and connection issues," said CHOICE CEO Alan Kirkland.

"Telstra's poor rating on value for money is not surprising given CHOICE's investigation last year, which found consumers aid up to a 92 per cent price premium to access Telstra's network."
