PM Malcolm Turnbull has discussed his role in bringing Playboy magazine to Australia, with it revealed that Mr Turnbull was one of the lawyers involved in the deal to bring the adult magazine down under.

Mr Turnbull was working for media mogul Kerry Packer at the time as a young lawyer, and told Nine's Today Show that while he had never been to the Playboy mansion, he had liaised with Hefner's daughter Christine for the licensing deal for Playboy in Australia.

“His daughter Christie was running the company, and I negotiated with her in their office building in Chicago, and was there for about three weeks and got the deal done, and as you know the following year I think in February ’79 I think Kerry launched the Australian edition of Playboy," Mr Turnbull said.
