London police have confirmed at least nine people are dead from the London terror attacks, including the three attackers shot by police.

At least 20 people have also been taken to hospital, with the figure increasing.

Assistant commissioner Mark Rowley confirmed the news.

"At this stage, we believe that sadly six people have died, in addition to the three attackers shot by police," he said.

"There are at least 20 casualties taken to six hospitals."

Rowley confirmed the suspects were shot quickly, and were wearing fake explosive vests.

"The suspects have been confronted and shot by police within eight minutes of the first call," he said.

"The suspects were wearing what looked like explosive vests, but these were later established to be hoaxes."
