A wet welcome for the Prince

Well it's not the best weather to welcome royalty, but Prince Harry has touched down in Sydney overnight, to promote the 2018 Invictis games.

The Prince arrived from Singapore about 7pm to cold, wet weather, and during his 2 day visit will launch the 500-day countdown to the games, which he founded 4 years ago.

He's expected to stop by Campbell's Cove with the Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Veteran Affairs Minister David Elliott and meet with members of the Aussie squad hoping to be selected for the games.

The New South Wales government is urging Sydneysiders to get in early, with large crowds again expected to flock to the harbour for a glimpse of the prince.

New South Wales Police, federal and state governments along with Invictus Games organisers have been working closely to ensure the prince's safety during his stay while minimising disruption to the public.
