A high school principal has rubbished claims from a mum who appeared in an anti gay marriage ad that aired on TV last night.

Melbourne mum Cella White, whose son goes to Frankston High School, claims her son was told he could wear a dress to school if he felt like it.

The school Principal John Albiston told Triple M that never actually happened.

"She claimed it happened in a science class so we spoke to her son's science teachers. They said it never happened,"

He said no other parents at the school made the claim.

"I never received any other complaints about that from any other parents in our community," he said.

"If we had said that to our students, I would've been inundated with complaints".

He said all parents had to do is ask their sons if it happened, and they would have said "as if".
