Fun fact – if your grandparents are still sharp as a tack there’s a good chance they’re still getting jiggy with it.

British researchers have found frequent sexual activity among older adults leads to “higher cognitive function” including stronger memory and language skills, AAP reports.

Coventry and Oxford universities invited 73 people aged between 50 and 83 to take part in tests measuring brain function while answering questions about how often they had sex.

And you guessed it, the folks who were still getting busy scored the highest in the test.

The group who had sex weekly scored an average of two percentage points above those who had it monthly, and four points higher than those who never had sex.

The study was published in the The Journals of Gerontology, Series B: Psychological and Social Sciences.
