Schoolies Are Using Facebook To Sell Their Wristbands To Toolies

A number of “toolies” or non-school leavers are reportedly taking to social media to buy official wristbands to Gold Coast Schoolies celebrations.

Organisers of the annual end-of-school event have told AAP that a number of people have used Facebook to make a quick sale on the entry passes, some which had been superglued and stapled together.

"We are not fooled in terms of working out what kids try to do - some kids try and crash the party,” said Schoolies advisory group chair Mark Reaburn.

It comes as Queensland Police announced that on Sunday night, 13 schoolies were arrested on 16 offences, seven of which were for drug possession.

Eleven schoolies were issued with liquor infringements notices.

There were also 10 non-schoolies arrested on 12 charges, mostly relating to public nuisance and drug possession.

Police have reminded school leavers that the possession and consumption of dangerous drugs is illegal and could have fatal consequences, with drug detection dogs policing the event.
