According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, Aussie men are more likely than women to be obese, smoke, take illicit drugs and commit suicide.

The data shows men are three times more likely to take their own lives and have nearly twice the rate of death from lung cancer and coronary heart disease compared to women.

Staggeringly, seven in ten men are overweight or obese.

Comparatively, just over half of Aussie women fall into this category.

Half of all males and 41 per cent of females were also found to have experienced some form of physical violence since turning 15.
