24 hours on from the twin terror attacks in London, and we have confirmation a third Australian has been caught up.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop confirmed the update this morning, telling Nine the details are still sketchy.

"We do know that three Australians have been affected," she said during an interview with Nine's Today.

Brisbane woman Candice Hedge was the first identified. The 31 year old had her throat slit by an attacker who stormed into the pub where she was having dinner with her boyfriend. She's now recovering from emergency surgery.

We also know about Darwin electrician Andrew Morrison, who posted a selfie style video of himself just after the attack. In it, he's clutching a blood soaked towel to his neck

The Foreign Minister has confirmed she has spoken with the father of the Brisbane woman, while she says another Australian, presumably Morrison, had received stitches and is on his way back home.

"There is a third Australian and we are working hard to determine the circumstances around that."

"I spoke to our high commissioner Alexander Downer a short while ago, the three Australians are the only ones we know who are affected in terms of physical injury. But obviously at any one time there are around 130,000 Australians living in the UK, many in London so we continue to offer consulate services to anyone trying to contact loved ones."
