Budget airline Tigerair Australia has cancelled all of its flights to and from Bali, effective immediately.

The decision was made "following a decision by the Indonesian government to impose new administrative requirements for the operation of its flights between Bali and Australia", according to a statement published on the airline's website on Wednesday.

The statement says customer provisions, such as flights on an alternate carrier or a full refund, will be made available to passengers due to travel from Melbourne to Denpasar (TT1), Adelaide to Denpasar (TT17), Denpasar to Perth (TT24) and Denpasar to Melbourne (TT6) on Wednesday.

The airline has confirmed that the cancellations are not safety-related.
