Tony Abbott's daughter has revealed on Instagram she plans to cast a “yes” vote in the government’s same-sex marriage postal vote survey.

With the ABS reportedly ahead of schedule in their mass mail out of survey forms, Francis Abbott announced on Friday her stance on marriage equality was far different from both dad Tony and mum Margie – who are both “no” advocates.

"I don't really care much for politics," Ms Abbott wrote alongside a picture of her wearing a white t-shirt captioned with “vote yes”.

"But I do really care a lot for love. All love is good. Let's celebrate it."

With hundreds of likes already, the post was accompanied with scores of comments from fans.

“This is the highlight of my week! Thank you!” wrote one, while another said: “Brave girl.”

The inspiring post comes just days after dad Tony published an op-ed in The Sydney Morning Herald, in which he detailed why he believes marriage equality would “fundamentally change society”.

“To demand "marriage equality", therefore, is quite misleading. Same sex couples already have that,” he wrote.

“This debate is about changing marriage, not extending it. And if you change marriage, you change society; because marriage is the basis of family; and family is the foundation of community.”
